How to Apply

Applications are now invited.

Opportunities for graduate student stipends, undergraduate students and post doctoral fellowships. 

NSERC CREATE offers highly competitive financial support for exceptional students and post doctoral fellows. Funding is provided by NSERC.

Here are the application instructions.


1.  Potential Graduate Students

LabPic

  • curriculum vitae (provide an overview of yourself and qualifications)
  • university transcripts (copies will be accepted at this stage of the application)
  • statement of interest (one page maximum)

Students who have already identified a potential supervisor at one of the six universities should provide the following to IACPES:

  • curriculum vitae (provide an overview of yourself and qualifications)
  • transcripts (initially provide copy of transcript to IACPES; also please arrange for an official transcript to be sent directly to IACPES)
  • letter of support from supervisor
  • two letters of reference (not including letter of support from supervisor;  please arrange for reference contacts to send the letters directly to IACPES)
  • research proposal (maximum length 1 page)

Applications will be accepted anytime.  Please send your application to Carol Weldon, Program Coordinator by email to IACPES@yorku.ca, or send by mail to IACPES, York University, Room 006 Steacie Science and Engineering Building, 4700 Keele Street, Toronto, Ontario, M3J 1P3, Canada.

Students who qualifiy will be notified, if considerd for an interview.  An interview will be arranged by IACPES’ project coordinator to take place in person at Yorku or via video conferencingAfter the interview the student will be notified within one or two weeks.

Note:  Students who are accepted in the IACPES program must fulfill the requirements of their respective university* graduate program application requirements. 

Students must fulfill the trainee requirements of this IACPES program.

2.  Undergraduate Students

Undergraduate students should contact a potential supervisor from one of the six universities to inquire about possibilities.  To apply submit to IACPES a resume, transcript, and a letter of support from your supervisor.


3.  Post doctoral fellows

Interested highly qualified post doctoral fellows are encouraged to contact potential supervisors from one of the six universities.  An applicant’s best chance for success is to contact the potential supervisor with research interests similar to the applicants.  Applications will only be accepted with support statement from potential supervisor. Phd. dissertation must be successfully defended and completed – minor revisions pending is acceptable. 

Requirements:

  • a letter of support from the potential supervisor
  • a research plan (one page maximum)
  • resume/CV
  • two letters of reference
  • copy of transcript 

 PDFs who qualify will be notified if considered for an interview.  An interview will be arranged by IACPES’ project coordinator to take place in person at Yorku or via video conferencing.  After the interview the PDF will be notified within one or two weeks.
